Hi . It's been awhile.
I bought Toby Lightman's Bird on a Wire CD about a week ago and I can't stop listening to My Sweet Song and Front Row (live). They are both so amazing. Why didn't I ever listen to recommendations about her before?
I also just bought Jason Mraz's new cd, which Im excited to listen to on my way to work today. I'm ecstatic that James Morrison is a featured artist on a track because I've been raving about him for ages.
Nothing going on here of excitement. Work is going fine and personal life is fine. Hopefully my next update will be sooner than 6 months and I'll have more interesting news to report!

i've been dying to hear the song 'anything i do' by mieka pauley but i cant find the cd its on and i cant download it online. if you have it, can you send it to me? please? its like a primal need i have to hear this song.

i can't remember the last time i posted. where did i leave off? well i was hired on as an official employee at my company. i work for an amazing non-profit youth organization. i got a salary raise(+12%!) as well as an additional job responsibility----grant writer. AWESOME. this is a great opportunity for me, i've wanted to do something with writing since i started college and now i'm finally being given the chance, indirectly because i didnt ask to do it. i'm so excited. i start my grant writing classes next week, it's a 6 week online course. i will also be recieving on-the-job training and hopefully i can start with the creative aspect right away.
what else? i'm so excited about the job stuff i barely know what else is going on. |

I haven't updated in so long that I wonder if anyone still reads this.
Let's see, where to start? Well I live in Huntington Beach now. I miss some aspects of San Diego but HB has and always will be my home, so it's nice to know I'm back where I belong.
I have a great job working for a non-profit. It's crazy stressful right now, and i'm looking forward to the summer months when our fundraising efforts calm down a little bit. I work in the development department as a department and director assistant, which means i get to assist on our fundraising events as well as do random admin duties for our director. Next week I'm going on a business trip for a golf tourney i helped organize. FUN!

havent updated in awhile. here's how i spent my friday night:
on thursday i left work because i felt totally feverish. i went home and slept and when i woke up i'd acquired a tummy ache too, just a dull pain that wouldn't go away. so 24 hours passes and its friday afternoon and my pain is still there, i'm shaking because i have a fever and i cant shake the stomach ache. since i quit my job, i knew my insurance was ending on friday at midnight. so at 5pm friday, when i wasn't feeling any better, i drove my sick ass to urgent care, figuring if it was anything, i better get it taken care of right away. so i waited at urgent care until 7:30 when they finally saw me, they took my temperature and felt my tummy and right away told me i had symptoms of appendicitis and i needed to go to the er. GREAT.
so i went over to the ER and freaked out a little bit because i was by myself. luckily my cousin, brother, mom and best friend showed up not long after. i finally got into the er at around 11 where i was hooked up to an iv, blood was taken, tests run and everything. i got a ct scan! scary thing--- i had to drink the barium drink which made me feel like i was peeing on the tabl during the test. they told me i was dehydrated, which made sense because i hadn't really eaten since dinner on wednesday. at 4:30 am i finally found out it wasn't my appendix. according to the doc, i have a virus and it caused the lymph nodes in my abdomin to swell and cause pain.
what a waste of money and time!! but i'd never had a stomach ache like that before, usually its like stomach flu or nerves or something, but it was just a pain that was constant for over 24 hours. and a fever, and plain fatigue-i coudnt get out of bed. i'm afraid to see my hospital bill. luckily i got in before my insurance ran out. hopefully anyways!
and now i just read that Kelly was in the hospital too! eek not a good weekend. glad you're ok kel. |

ok i'll play:
6 facts.
Once tagged by this entry, the assignment is to write a journal entry with six random facts about yourself. Then, pick six of your friends and tag them; no tag backs. This explanation should be included.
1. i taught myself how to yodel but i can only do it in the shower. must be the steam loosening my vocal chords!!
2. when i make anything for dinner, i can't just leave stuff out on the counter before i eat it. usually i put the stuff away the second after i use it. for example, i'll get everything out for my salad, and i'll add the cucumber, then put it away. then i'll add the brocolli, and put it away, etc until its all in my salad and put away. then i can enjoy it. i cant enjoy it knowing there's clean up afterwards.
3. i used to drive really fast but lately i find myself going the speed limit, or even less. i don't know what's up with that!
4. i have karaoke songs on my ipod and sometimes i'll sing them when driving home from work.
5. if i hear a plane outside my bedroom window or work window, i immediately tense up. i'm terrified of planes crashing into me wherever i am. interestinly enough, i'm not as terrified to ride one as i am of it crashing into me.
6. i'm addicted to nonfat sugar free vanilla lattes. i just had one from the coffee bean and tea leaf this morning and i think it may be better than starbucks. but its more expensive !
